WINDTRICITY HAS ACCESS TO THE VERY BEST TURBINES CURRENTLY AVAILABLE IN IRELAND AND THE UK FROM 1kW THROUGH TO 11kW FOR ON-GRID APPLICATIONS AND HIGHER FOR OFF-GRID.  WE CONSTANTLY MONITOR DEVELOPMENTS AND IMPROVEMENTS IN TECHNOLOGY TO ENSURE THAT OUR CUSTOMERS ALWAYS HAVE ACCESS TO THE MOST SUITABLE AND ADVANCED EQUIPMENT/TECHNOLOGY AVAILABLE.

The product we recommend to you will be contained in our detailed report which will identify a specification designed for the requirements of your individual, unique location.

Following our expert  assessment of your site, WINDTRICITY will bring you the very best wind turbine for your individual site and requirements, be it home, small business or farm.

Because so many factors can impinge on the calculations for an ideal system, it is not possible to recommend a specific product - nor, therefore, a specific quote - prior to conducting a full assessment of the potential site.

These and other factors will be taken into consideration by WINDTRICITY when we make recommendations to YOU, our customer.  When we cost your project we take ALL the circumstances into account, so that our final quotation is tailored to an individual specification for YOU and reflects only the costs associated with YOUR requirements.

The Capital costs of your investment in a suitable wind turbine system will be offset by:

* The ever increasing savings in your electricity bills from the utility
...(ESB in ROI).

* Any payments you receive for excess electricity sold back to the
...grid.

* Increase in value of your property.

* Saving on your carbon footprint (and ROC payments in the UK).

For budgetary purposes only and as a very rough guide you should consider the sums of €10,000 - €15,000 for a complete
2kW system installed, similarly a 3kW single phase €12,000 - €20,000 and 5.75kW €15,000 - €25,000.  For a larger 11kW
three phase system suitable for a business or a farm with industrial machinery €20,000 - €35,000.

Recent changes in the payback tarrifs reduce the payback time considerably as do any increases in electricity prices bought from the utility, which your turbine replaces.  Payback on an installed system in a good location can be as low as 5 years.

IN THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND PLANNING EXEMPTIONS AS DETAILED IN PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT  REGULATIONS 2001 - 2008 ALLOW WIND TURBINE INSTALLATIONS WITHIN THE CURTILAGE OF DOMESTIC HOUSES, COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS AND FARMS WITHOUT PLANNING PERMISSION, SUBJECT TO CERTAIN CONDITIONS.  THE LOCAL PLANNING AUTHORITY IS ABLE TO ISSUE PLANNING EXEMPTION CERTIFICATES IF REQUIRED.

The factors requiring assessment are:

THE WIND - We need to calculate the average or mean wind speed on your individual site, as it varies considerably depending on your location.

ORIENTATION - The outlook of your site to the prevailing South-West wind, although consideration must be given to when the wind blows from other directions.

SURROUNDINGS - Obstacles that may interfere with windflow, which may include trees, buildings and even hills that might be some distance away.

POWER REQUIRED - Depending on size of premises, usage and any likely rises in electricity consumption. Recent utility bills, together with consultation, will allow us to extract information to make this calculation.

ACCESS - The ability of the utility (ESB IN ROI) to allow connection to the grid.

SITE  -  Installation parameters including soil type, surroundings, access to site, distance from distribution board etc.
